At Summit Trails, we stand behind our outdoor gear with the same confidence we have in our own adventures. If your equipment doesn’t meet your expectations, we’ll make it right. Our returns policy is designed to be as straightforward as setting up camp under the stars.

Who Can Return Items?

Our policy applies to all adventurers who purchased directly from www.summittrailsshop.com within the last 15 days of receiving their order. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns from third-party retailers.

Return Conditions

To qualify for a return or exchange, items must be:

  • In original, unused condition (tags attached and packaging intact)
  • Accompanied by proof of purchase
  • Returned within 15 days of delivery
Note on Non-Returnable Items: For safety and hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns on First Aid Kits (once opened) and Insect Protection products (if packaging seal is broken).

Step-by-Step Return Process

1. Initiate Your Return

Contact our Adventure Support team within 15 days of delivery:

Return Request Template: Subject: Return Request: #ST12345 Dear Summit Trails Team, I would like to request a return/exchange for my recent order (#ST12345). 2. Receive Return Authorization

Within 2 business days, we’ll email you:

  • Return Authorization Number (RMA)
  • Prepaid return label (for US customers)
  • International return instructions (if applicable)

3. Package and Ship

Securely pack items in original packaging with the RMA number visible. For your protection, we recommend using a trackable shipping service.

4. Inspection & Processing

Once received at our Oklahoma facility, we’ll inspect items within 3 business days and notify you via email about your refund or exchange status.

Refund Timeline & Methods

Approved refunds will be processed within 5 business days after we receive your return. Your refund will be issued to your original payment method:

  • Credit Cards: 3-10 business days (depending on your bank)
  • PayPal: 3-5 business days

Shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.

Exchange Process

For size or color exchanges:

  1. Follow the standard return process
  2. Specify your desired replacement in your request
  3. We’ll ship the new item once we receive your return

Expedited shipping is available for an additional fee.

Damaged or Defective Items

If your gear arrives damaged or defective:

  • Contact us within 48 hours of delivery
  • Include photos of the damage/defect
  • We’ll arrange a free replacement or return
Adventure Guarantee: We understand outdoor gear needs to perform when it matters most. If you’re unsatisfied with any product’s performance during actual outdoor use, contact us – we’ll work with you to find a solution.

International Returns

Customers outside the US:

  • You’re responsible for return shipping costs
  • Include all customs documentation
  • Mark package as “Returned Goods” to avoid duties
  • Refunds exclude original shipping fees
